Junior Knowledgebase Engineer
London or Bristol, UK
We are looking for a new junior knowledgebase builder for our London or Bristol teams, and require an enthusiastic person, with a logical approach to problem solving, keen to learn and willing and able to work with a dynamic group of people whilst focusing on computer-based tasks.
A complete knowledge and understanding of the English language and the use of Microsoft Office (particularly with Excel) are musts, experience with Visio is a bonus. You should have a good grasp of basic html. Experience with Python Script and/or XML is welcome but not required.
It’s important for our team members to have the ability to manage their time, resources and projects effectively and also troubleshoot problems and hurdles as and when they arise. Minimum of 2 years work experience or university degree required.
This is an entry-level freelance position with many possibilities to grow.
To be based in either our Canary Wharf or Bristol offices. No telecommuters please.

Senior Development and Support Technician
London, UK
As a Senior Development Technician you will be responsible for helping the technical team deploy and support our conversational systems and online content development portal. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the development of new interfaces and modules around the core technologies.
Essential Technical Skills:
- Excellent understanding of web architectures and technologies, current developments, etc
- Minimum five years' experience in the IT sector
- Sound grasp of programming fundamentals and techniques
- Windows and Linux server administration
- Apache and Tomcat administration
- Server-side scripting (PHP primarily)
- Client-side scripting (JavaScript, Ajax, JQuery)
- Familiarity with building basic SQL queries
- Python
Advantageous Technical Skills:
- Standards compliant XHTML and CSS
- Good grounding in Java
- Experience of version control systems (central and distributed such as subversion and Git)
Other required skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, including written documentation and interacting with clients when required
- Ability to train, mentor and direct other team members where appropriate

Development and Support Technician

We are seeking Development and Support Technicians to join our expanding London-based team.
As a Development Technician you will be responsible for creating and updating rich user interfaces, helping to ensure smooth integration of our conversational systems with our clients' websites, and deploying and supporting our online content development portal. The position involves a combination of front and back-end work (approximately 70/30).
This aspect of the role gives you the opportunity for your work to be visible on some of the most highly trafficked websites in the world, with high-profile clients ranging from leading financial institutions to social networking sites.
The Support aspect will involve diagnosing and fixing problems with front-end systems (typically required knowledge of PHP and JavaScript), web-based statistical packages, and eventually the conversational systems themselves..
Essential Skills :

- Client-side scripting (JavaScript essential, Ajax useful)

The successful applicant will be key to the development of new interfaces and modules around the core natural language processing technologies that drive our business.
Essential Technical Skills:
- Java – the foundation of the UI layer between the NLP engine and the web
- Python – embedded in our NLP engine, and key to interface development
- JavaScript (including experience with JS frameworks, specifically JQuery)
- Experience in building and using APIs
- Database (SQL etc)
Useful skills
- Experience of developing and building applications for mobile devices (Android and ios)
- Knowledge and experience of C++

Infrastructure and Technical Services Engineer

As an Infrastructure and Technical Services Engineer you will take the lead in maintaining and supporting existing infrastructure systems as well as evaluating and implementing new ones. You will also help the technical team deploy and support our conversational systems and integrate them with our clients' websites. Infrastructure tasks will include:
- Global server network management (ordering, decommissioning, monitoring budgets)
- Google applications management (including email), Jira and Basecamp management
- Server and firewall monitoring, firewall configuration
- Database deployment, configuration, monitoring and management
Essential Technical Skills:
- Excellent understanding of web architectures and technologies, current developments, etc
- Windows and Linux server administration
- Apache and Tomcat administration
- Familiarity with building basic SQL queries, database server administration
- Basic network knowledge and administration – firewall configuration, ftp setup, etc.
